Five Recognized as 2005 Women of the Year
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (8/22/05) -- Aerospace employees Kim Bell, Mary Hornickel, Lisi Jackson, Pat Maloney, and Marie Smith are the 2005 Women of the Year. The women were recognized at a ceremony Aug. 22 in El Segundo that kicked off Women’s Week at The Aerospace Corporation.
Women’s Week is sponsored by the Aerospace Women’s Committee (AWC). This year’s theme is “Opportunity Through Change.” The regional offices are participating in some of the events via videobroadcast.
Lisa French, AWC president, welcomed attendees and introduced Dr. Rami Razouk, senior vice president, Engineering and Technology Group, who presented the honorees with their awards.
Carol Lin, anchor of CNN’s “Saturday Night” and “CNN Sunday Night” news programs, spoke Tuesday, Aug. 23, in El Segundo as part of Women’s Week. Lin shared some of her experiences, both professional and personal, as they related to the week’s theme.
The Aerospace Corporation, with headquarters in El Segundo, Calif., is an independent, nonprofit company that provides objective technical analyses and assessments for national security space programs and civil and commercial space programs in the national interest.
