Gen. John Tilelli Elected to Board of Trustees

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (3/27/00) -- Retired Army Gen. John H. Tilelli Jr. has been elected to the board of trustees of The Aerospace Corporation.

Tilelli, who retired from the Army Jan. 31 and now is head of the USO, was elected to the board when its members met in Washington, D.C., March 9 and 10.

Tilelli culminated his 37-year Army career as commander in chief of the United Nations Command and the Republic of Korea/United States Combined Forces Command, and commander of United States Forces Korea.

He served as commander of U.S. Army Forces Command before assuming leadership of the forces in Korea in 1996. Assignments he held at the Pentagon included deputy chief of staff for Operations and Plans and vice chief of staff of the Army.

Tilelli was commanding general of the First Cavalry Division during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
