The Aerospace Corporation Announces Promotions of
Joseph Bannister and Ronald Owens
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (12/13/06) — The Aerospace Corporation has announced that Dr. Joseph A. Bannister has been promoted to principal director of the Computer Science and Technology Subdivision and Dr. Ronald L. Owens has been named associate principal director of the organization.
Bannister will be responsible for managing the application of advanced computing technologies in support of end-to-end information systems for national security space systems, promoting customer-centered computer systems research and development, and expanding collaborations with external research organizations and academia. He advances from network chief engineer supporting the Transformational Satellite Communications System.
Owens, in his new position, will spearhead the application of advanced computer technology and security engineering practices to critical national security space programs with an emphasis on the enhancement of ground system interoperability. He was promoted from systems director in the Ground Systems Department of the Computer and Systems Engineering Subdivision.
The Aerospace Corporation, based in El Segundo, Calif., is an independent, nonprofit company that provides objective technical analyses and assessments for national security space programs and selected civil and commercial space programs in the national interest.
