Authors Murdock, Welle Win AIAA Best Paper Award

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (8/14/00) -- "Downstream Gas Effect on Nozzle Flow-Separation Location," a paper written by Drs. John Murdock and Richard Welle of The Aerospace Corporation, was selected as the best technical paper of 1999 by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Solid Rockets Technical Committee.

Murdock and Welle received certificates of merit in recognition of their achievement at an awards luncheon July 18 in Huntsville, Ala., at the 36th Joint Propulsion Conference.

Murdock is an engineer in the Vehicle Performance Subdivision and Welle is manager of the Experimental Mechanics Section in the Propulsion Science and Experimental Mechanics Department
