The Aerospace Corporation names Malissia Clinton to top legal post

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 20 - Malissia R. Clinton has joined The Aerospace Corporation as vice president and associate general counsel.

She is slated to succeed Gordon J. Louttit, senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary, upon his retirement Oct. 1. Clinton will assume those same roles at that time.

The general counsel is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel at the senior management level, managing corporate transactions of the board of trustees and its committees, and maintaining custody of corporate records.

Clinton previously worked in the Century City corporate offices of Northrop Grumman Corp., where she served as senior counsel for special projects in the office of the general counsel. In that position she provided legal guidance regarding corporate governance, reporting directly to the general counsel and deputy general counsel/corporate secretary. She additionally supported the chief executive officer, the president, and the vice president of contracts, and provided risk assessments of contracts from Northrop Grumman's various business segments.

She began her Northrop Grumman career in 1998 within the Space Technology sector, first as counsel and later as senior counsel. As an undergraduate, she worked summers as an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, she worked for the law firm of Tuttle and Taylor in Los Angeles, from 1993 to 1998.

Clinton, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, earned a B.A. in political science summa cum laude from Arizona State University, a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she was an editor of the Stanford Law Review, and is a graduate of the UCLA Anderson School's executive program in business management. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the California Bar Association.
