EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (5/10/04) -- The Aerospace Corporation's Crosslink magazine has received the prestigious Maggie Award for the second consecutive year as the top annual, semiannual, or three-time trade magazine published in the Western United States. The Western Publications Association honored Crosslink for the Summer 2003 issue, "Radiation in the Space Environment."

More than 1,700 entries representing over 500 magazines entered the 2004 Maggie competition prior to the announcement of the final list of nominees. Few of the magazines in competition managed to achieve back-to-back nominations, and only a handful of those were repeat winners.

The 53rd annual Maggie Awards were presented at a ceremony held April 23 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel. Accepting the award were Dr. Donna J. Born, director of the Aerospace Press and Crosslink editor in chief, and Gabriel Spera, editor of Crosslink.

Crosslink focuses on current and historical achievements that have kept The Aerospace Corporation at the forefront of advances in national space technology. The publication takes an in-depth look at specific space programs.

Previous issues have explored such major areas as launch vehicles, space communication, satellite navigation, and systems engineering.
