Aerospace, JPL Forge Business Ties

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (2/5/01) -- The Aerospace Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Jan. 16 that will foster collaboration on defense, civil, and commercial business and establish a roadmap for future cooperative endeavors.

Dr. Bill Ballhaus, Aerospace president, and Dr. Ed Stone, JPL director, signed the agreement during a meeting held at JPL offices in Pasadena, Calif.

The agreement enables the two organizations to work as partners on NASA, civil, commercial, and national-security space programs of mutual benefit.

The partnership is expected to benefit both companies by enhancing mission success through the efficient use of scarce resources and rapid infusion of revolutionary technologies, by enabling cross-program knowledge and the sharing of lessons learned, and by increasing the opportunity to broaden the business base.
