From Santa Maria Airport

1. Turn right from the Santa Maria airport (east) onto Skyway Drive and travel 1/2 mile to Highway 135
2. Turn right and travel south on Highway 135 about 4.5 miles to Vandenberg turnoff
3. The main gate is about 3.5 miles southwest on Highway 1
4. After entering Vandenberg, follow California Boulevard to the first traffic light and turn left (southwest) on Utah Ave.
5. Follow Utah Ave. about 1 mile, cross Washington Ave. at the traffic light, then cross the railroad tracks
6. Get in the left lane and turn left onto 6th St.
7. Sixth Street curves and becomes Iceland Ave.
8. Building 8500 is the first large building on the left. Park in the large lot on the far side of the building

From Los Angeles International Airport

(The trip takes about 3 hours depending on time of day and traffic conditions)

1. Go east on Century Blvd 1 1/2 miles to San Diego Freeway (I-405)
2. Go north on the 405 to California 101 (Ventura Freeway)
3. Travel west on the 101, which will parallel coast and eventually turn north
4. Exit 101 west (left) on California 246 to Buellton
5. Continue for about 15 miles to Lompoc
6. When the road forms a Y with Purissima, go straight on Purissima
7. Continue to California 1 and take California 1 until you reach the main gate at Vandenberg Air Force Base (left turn)
