The motion system is used to quickly and accurately position the device under test in the beam. There are lights and a video camera attached to the vacuum chamber that can be used to view the motion system and alignment laser at any time to confirm the positioning of the device under test.

Many tests are done with the device at an angle to the beam. This provides a longer path length for the beam through the device, thus depositing more energy into the part.

The face plate of the motion system has the following bolt pattern. An infinite variety of test devices can be mounted using 1 / 4 -20 screws.

We also have two U-Shaped circuit board holders that can be easily used to mount a variety of circuit boards to the face plate with little modification. The holders use the following bolt pattern with 4-40 screws. They hold the circuit board 1.5" away from the face of the motion system to provide clearance on the back of the circuit board. One holder is made of black plastic (phenolic). This electrically isolates the circuit board from the motion system. The other holder is made from gold anodized aluminum. This electrically grounds the circuit board to the motion system .
