Single Event Effects (SEE) Facility
The SEE vacuum chamber. |
The Space Science Applications Laboratory's third-generation test facility became operational in September, 1996, in Cave 4B at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory's 88-inch cyclotron . The test facility includes:
- A large vacuum chamber with enough
volume to hold large complex electronics.
- A 4-axis motion system for
positioning the test device quickly and accurately in the particle
beam.
- A beam diagnostics system
for monitoring the purity and intensity of the beam.
- Sophisticated control software that makes testing an easy automated process.
